After a historic jump in applications, USC offers admission to a promising group of diverse students  


USC의 2023년 입학지원자는 80,790명으로 역대 지원자 수 중 가장 많은 숫자를 기록했다. 이는 작년보다 17퍼센트나 오른 것이며 따라서 합격률도 9.9%로 가장 치열한 경쟁률을 보였다. 특히 올해는 11월 1일까지 모든 지원 절차를 마감하는 Early Action(EA) option을 실행하였는데 합격생의 55%는 EA 지원자였다. 또한  USC Gould School of Law’s undergraduate program in legal studies 와 같은 새로운 프로그램도 많은 관심을 끌어들여 60명 가량의 첫 입학생을 맞이했다. 

합격생들의 평균 GPA는 4 point scale의 3.9로 매우 높았으며 이 밖에도 커뮤니티에 대한 관심이나 새로운 배움에 대한 열정, strong work ethic 등 여러 요건들도 합격 심사 기준이 되었다.

International student는 지원자의 17%였으며 이중 19%가 합격이 됐다. 미국 외에 지원자와 합격생을 많이 배출한 나라는 중국, 인도, 캐나다, 대한민국, 싱가포 순이다. 미국 내에서는 수천 명의 합격생이 캘리포니아 주 출신이며 다음으로는 뉴욕, 텍사스, 일리노이 주 순이다.
