VOTE FOR STEPHANI!
Help a Trojan hero win a 2007 ESPY Award

Champion paraplegic skier and USC alumna Stephani Victor '92 has been nominated for a prestigious ESPN Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award (ESPY) for Best Female Athlete with a Disability.

Victor lost her legs while a student at USC. Loading her car, she was pinned against it when an out-of-control vehicle veered into her driveway. Both her legs were amputated above the knee. She took her first disabled skiing lesson three years and eleven reconstructive surgeries later.

Since then Stephani has collected nine World Cup victories, including four wins last winter, in both the slalom and giant slalom U.S. championships. She has gone from finishing last in her first World Cup to becoming the reigning World Cup and Olympic champion.

Nominated based on her winning the Overall World Cup Skiing title, Stephani is the only skiing athlete nominated for a 2007 ESPY Award. The ESPYS will be handed out by sports network ESPN during a show on July 15 highlighting the top sports moments and performances from the past year. Up until 2004 the award winners were chosen by ESPN, but since 2005 they have been determined by popular vote online.
