Following her presidential tour stopping in Chicago, USC President Carol L. Folt traveled to London for her first official visit abroad. The rainy city is home to USC¡¯s newest international office, which works to raise the school¡¯s profile in the U.K. and Europe. More importantly to Folt, the visit gave her an opportunity to meet members of the Trojan Family abroad. Read more

Mike Bohn will become USC¡¯s next athletic director effective Monday, USC President Carol L. Folt announced. Bohn will hold the Charles Griffin Cale Director of Athletics¡¯ Chair.

With a career that has spanned more than 35 years, Bohn is known for his integrity, leadership and student-centered focus. Starting at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Bohn has held key leadership roles in different conferences and successfully led athletics departments at the University of Cincinnati, University of Colorado, San Diego State University and the University of Idaho.

¡°In Mike, we have selected an energetic leader who will stay true to our Trojan heritage of outstanding athletic performance,¡± Folt said. ¡°He has led athletics programs that are extremely competitive while demanding the highest level of integrity, and he will bring this winning combination to USC.¡±  Read more

EducationUSA in Korea hosted the U.S. College Fair for Visual & Performing Arts on November 16th at the Grand InterContinental Parnas Hotel in Seoul.

16 U.S. colleges and universities specialized in the arts participated in the fair, including prominent institutions such as USC Thornton School of Music and Berklee College of Music. The event commenced with welcome remarks by Aaron Tarver, Cultural Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Korea. Approximately 160 students attended along with their parents. Attendees of the fair were provided opportunities to receive 1:1 counseling with school representatives and to attend seminars such as ¡®Tips for Creating the Best Art Portfolio¡¯ & ¡®How to Build a Career as an Artist¡¯.

On behalf of the USC Thornton School of Music, USC Korea Office staff promoted various programs and counseled students on the admissions process. USC Korea Office also gave students a brief introduction to USC's School of Dramatic Arts, Kaufman School of Dance, and School of Cinematic Arts.

The USC Master of Public Diplomacy is a member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA) which consists of member schools and affiliated programs dedicated to the improvement of professional education in international affairs. On November 7th, 16 APSIA member schools, including School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia Univ., Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University, and Yale Univ. Jackson Institute for Global Affairs gathered in Seoul National University to participate in the APSIA Graduate School Fair. Approximately 200 students registered for the event, and as a representative of USC Annenberg School, Kohyun Choi, Assistant Director of Admission, attended to provide information about the Public Diplomacy program.

On November 18th and 19th, Carol Rush, Associate Dean of USC Sol Price School of Public Policy, hosted four info sessions at Seoul National University, Korea University, and JW Marriott Hotel Seoul. Participants were given details of various programs and information regarding the admissions process of undergraduate exchange programs and Master/Ph.D. programs. In addition, an info session specifically for the Master of Public Administration dual degree program was also held at Seoul National University.
