USC-affiliated athletes won 21 medals — nine golds, five silvers and seven bronzes — at the just-concluded 2016 Rio Olympics, keeping the school as the leader among U.S. universities for most all-time medals and gold medals and continuing its streak of having won a gold medal at every Summer Olympics since 1912.

USC’s 21 medals in Rio were tied for second most by an American university in 2016, while its nine golds were fourth most. It is the third consecutive Summer Olympics that USC athletes have won at least 20 medals.   Read more 

이번 2016 리우 올림픽에는 총 44명의 USC 트로잔 운동선수들이 참가했다.  1912년 하계 올림픽부터 금메달을 연속하여 획득해온  트로잔 운동선수들은 이번에도  9개의 금메달, 5개의 은메달, 7개의 동메달 총 21개의 메달을 따서 다시한번 USC 스포츠의 위상을 드러냈다.  헝가리를 대표하여 참가한   Katinka Hosszu는 수영에서 3개의 금메달과 1개의 은메달을 땄으며,  육상선수인 Allyson Felix는 400 미터와 1600 미터 계주에서 2개의 금메달, 또한 여자 개인 400 미터 경기에서 은메달을 땄다. 미국 육상계의 스타인  그녀는 4번의 올림픽에 참가하여 총  9개의 메달을 거머쥐게 됐다. 이밖에 폴로에서의 Kami Craig와 Kaleigh Gilchrist, 허들 경기에서의 Daliah Muhammad, 미국 농구팀의 DeMar DeRozan도 금메달을 획득한 트로잔 선수들이다.
