Dear Fellow Trojans,

Last month, I had the privilege to join USC President C. L. Max Nikias and other university leaders, as well as academic deans and fellow alumni, for the 2017 USC Global Conference in Tokyo. It was inspiring to hear some of our most distinguished faculty members, including USC Judge Widney Professor General (Ret.) David H. Petraeus, engage in provocative conversations with Pacific Rim leaders about using emerging technologies to improve lives worldwide.

The conference also provided an excellent opportunity to connect with international alumni. It was a reminder that the Trojan Family is truly global; that no matter where you go, you¡¯re bound to meet a fellow Trojan. More...

Celebrating 25 Years of Pride on November 15
Join special guest USC President C. L. Max Nikias and LGBT and ally Trojans to mark a milestone: the 25th anniversary of the founding of the USC Lambda LGBT Alumni Association. Celebrate USC Lambda¡¯s legacy and support its endowed scholarship fund for LGBT+ and ally students.


Changing Minds: USC's Approach to Alzheimer's
USC Provost Michael Quick and world-class USC researchers are heading to New York City¡¯s Morgan Library on November 8 to give a special presentation on the university¡¯s bold approach to finding treatments—and perhaps a cure—for this devastating disease.

Congratulations to Keith Dinielli ¡¯96 (pictured), supervising producer of The Voice, who won his 4th Emmy for Outstanding Reality Competition Program at the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sept. 17. Click above to see the USC cinema alums who won Emmys this year.


Veteran with PTSD Fights On
A courageous Iraq veteran with PTSD, Cesar Jimenez Jr. has help—from his wife, a service dog, thoughtful professors and a tutor—as he works toward a sociology degree at USC Dornsife and a future helping others.


USC Alumni Help Right a Past Injustice
Sidney Kanazawa JD ¡¯78 (left), Carole Fujita PharmD ¡¯65, Jeffrey Gee Chin MFA ¡¯16 and Mark Furuya JD ¡¯05 led efforts to persuade the CA State Bar to grant a posthumous law license to USC law school grad Sei Fuji '11, who'd been legally barred from practicing law in the state based on his race.

Kevin Feige ¡¯95, president of Marvel Studios, has established a USC School of Cinematic Arts endowed fund to further the art and craft of creative producing.

Will Ferrell ¡¯90 and his wife Viveca Paulin have endowed USC¡¯s first full women¡¯s soccer scholarship.

Tricia Oney DMA ¡¯07 will serve as the U.S. Army Band¡¯s Artist-in-Residence and Composer-in-Residence.
