2018년 USC Admitted Student Event가 4월 8일 역삼동 '라움 에서 개최된다. 이는 USC Office of Admission에서 학부의 입학허가를 받은 학생과 이들의 가족을 초청하여, 입학 담당자가 직접 학생들을 축하하고 입학에 필요한 여러 다양한 정보를 제공하는 행사이다. 한국 행사에서는 특히 교환학생으로 한국에 있는 USC 재학생 및 현 USC학부모들이 참여하여 Q&A 세션을 통해 학교와 LA 생활에 관한 많은 정보와 경험을 공유하고 있다. 

USC는 입학허가를 받은 신입생들을 위해 visiting campus 및 각 지역의 Admitted Student Event 와 같은 프로그램을 운영하고 있다. 특히 학교 방문이 어려운 외국유학생들에게  Admitted Student Event는 직접 학교의 입학담당직원을 만나 입학 절차나 학교생활 등에 관해  궁금한 점을 물어볼 수 있는 좋은 기회이다.
이 밖에도  신입생들을 위한 행사로  USC동문회에서 주관하여 개최하고 있는 'Scend Off' 가 있다. 한국에서는 매년 7월에 열리고 있다.

USC Viterbi 공과대학원 입학설명회가 4월에 개최된다. 입학담당자가 내한하여 학교의 석/박사 프로그램을 소개하고 지원 요강, 장학금제도, LA생활 등에 관해 안내를  할 예정이다. 공학이나 수학, 혹은 물리 등 과학 분야에 학사학위가 있는 누구나가  참가할 수 있다. 설명회에 참가한 학생에게는 입학지원료가 면제된다.

고등학생을 위한 USC Summer Programs 은 학생들이 대학생활을 경험하며 다양한 학문을 접할 수 있는 기회이다. 수업을 선택하여 주 5일 하루 6시간 이상 가량  집중적으로 강의를 듣고 워크샵, 현장 학습 등도 참가한다. 4주 Credit 프로그램과  2주 Non-Credit  프로그램이 있다.

ISSP는  USC Price 행정대학에서 제공하는 외국인을 대상으로 한 2주 여름 프로그램이다. 커리큘럼은 public policy, governance, urban planning, health administration에 관한 강의와 더불어 항만청과 LA 시청을 비롯해 여러 커뮤니티 방문과 career development session 등 다양하게 짜여져있다.

USC Gould School of Law의  Summer Law & English (SLE) Program 이 7월 9일부터 8월 3일까지 열린다. 이 프로그램은 법 전공자 혹은 관련 업무 종사자를 위한 약 4주간의 과정이다. 법률에 관계된 영어 공부뿐 아니라, 미국법의 다양한 분야에 대한 지식을 얻을 수 있다.

USC가 2012년부터 5년 연속 미국에서 가장 성공적인 기금모금을 한 대학 중의 하나로 선정됐다. CAE(Council for Aid to Education)가 발표한 조사에서 USC는 2017년에 다섯번째로 기금을 많이 모금한 대학으로 발표됐다. 5년 연속 5위 안에 든 대학은 스탠포드, 하버드 대학과 함께 USC가 유일하다. 7년 전부터 시작한 기금운동인 Campaign for USC에 힘입어 2017년에 USC는 약 6억6천8백만 달러의 현금을 모금했다. USC가 벌여온  60억 달러 캠페인은 예상시기보다 18개월 일찍 달성돼 현재 65억 8천만 달러의 현금 모금과 기부 서약을 받았으며, 2021년까지 기금 캠페인을 연장할것이라한다.              

USC once again ranks among the nation’s top universities in fundraising.

The university closed out 2017 with the fifth-highest total for cash gifts, according to the Council for Aid to Education (CAE). USC has consistently ranked in the top five since 2012, a feat shared by only two other institutions, Harvard and Stanford universities. Read more

2월 20일 USC의 London International office가 개관했다. 이는 USC Strategic and Global Initiatives 산하의 기존 여덟 곳의 international office에 이어 새로 추가된 것으로, USC London office는 영국과 유럽의 우수한 학생들을 유치하고 교육과 연구의 파트너십을 위한 센터의 역할을 맡게 된다. C.L. Max Nikias USC 총장은 "USC London office는 파트너십 네트워크 구축과 협력을 계속해 나갈 것이며, 영국 뿐 아니라 유럽의 본부로서 USC가 세계에 발돋움할 수 있는 중요한 역할을 할 것이다." 라고 말했다. USC London office의 디렉터로는 동문인 Priya Rana Kapoor이 임명됐다. 

USC just got a little closer for Trojans based in Europe: With a delegation of university leaders led by President C. L. Max Nikias on hand, USC’s newest international office officially opened this week in London.

The office serves as headquarters for USC’s efforts to attract talented prospective Trojans from across the United Kingdom and the continent. Located on Bedford Square in London’s Bloomsbury neighborhood, it is a center for recruiting, education and research partnerships and more.

“The USC community is eager to continue building on the network of partnerships and collaborations we have established here thus far,” Nikias said. Read more

지난 1월, 서울대학교 성낙인 총장과 구민교 행정대학원 교수 일행이 USC를 방문하여 C. L. Max Nikias 총장과  회동을 가졌다. 양측은 서울대가 추진 중인 ‘SNU in Creative California’ 프로그램에 USC의 참여문제에 대해 논의했으며,  이를 계기로 더 많은 학생과 학술 교류협력 활성화가 이루어지기를 기대한다고 전했다.  

‘SNU in Creative California’는 서울대의 대표적인 국제화 교육프로그램인 SNU in the World Program(SWP)의 일환으로서, 겨울방학 기간 중 학생들이 2주에 걸쳐 UC Irvine, USC 등 남가주 주요 대학에서 교수들의 강연을 듣고 영화, 문화, 스포츠, 예술 산업 관련 기관을 방문하여 현장체험학습도 경험하는 프로그램이다.

This past January, President of Seoul National University, Sung, Nak-In, visited USC and had a meeting with President C.L. Max Nikias. They discussed issues about further academic exchanges and future initiatives between SNU and USC including SNU's new program, "SNU in Creative California". The program is a part of "SNU in the World Program," which offers students opportunities to study abroad in major cities around the world. The curriculum of the new program is designed to combine lectures of major universities including USC and UC Irvine and visits to institutions in the field of film, culture, sports, and arts in California during the winter break.
