Dear Fellow Trojan,

With the recent university announcement about an upcoming change in institutional leadership, an important transition for our beloved USC is underway—one that will reaffirm our core values, honor our legacy and lay the groundwork for a new era. It will take time, but we believe that we will emerge stronger than ever, thanks in great part to the steadfast support of you and the other 410,000+ members of the Trojan Family, who believe in USC¡¯s mission to cultivate and enrich the human mind and spirit for the betterment of all.

Mr. President
On May 24, Michael A. Felix ¡®83 began his tenure as the 2018-19 president of the USC Alumni Association Board of Governors. A member of the USC Latino Alumni Association Corporate Advisory Board, Felix was formerly installed at the 2018 USCAA Board of Governors Annual Meeting.


Meet the New Chair of the USC Board of Trustees
Real estate developer, civic leader and philanthropist Rick Caruso ¡¯80 has been elected the chair of the USC Board of Trustees. The longtime university supporter and USC Marshall alumnus begins his five-year term immediately.


Commencement Speakers Inspire the Class of 2018

8th Annual Tommy Awards

A Trailblazing Trojan Roboticist
At 27, Ayanna Howard MS ¡¯94, PhD ¡¯99 took charge of the NASA team developing AI for Mars rovers. Today, she¡¯s the chair of Georgia Tech¡¯s School of Interactive Computing and the chief technology officer of Zyrobotics, a company she co-founded to build educational products for children.


Bringing Yoga to Inner-City Kids
Thanks to a gift from Teresa Updegraff Power ¡¯84 (pictured), USC Dornsife¡¯s Joint Educational Project is expanding its Little Yoginis program for inner-city kids, helping them find tranquility in the midst of chaos.

Trojan Alum-inaries



Jaime Lee ¡¯06, JD ¡¯09, 2017-18 USC Alumni Association Board of Governors president, has been elected to the USC Board of Trustees.

April Ross ¡¯04, two-time Olympic medalist, won her 30th 1st-place finish in an Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) tournament with her win at the 2018 AVP Austin Open.

Alan D. Wapner '78, Ontario Mayor pro Tem, has been sworn in as the president of the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG).

A frequent collaborator with actor/writer/director Donald Glover (FX¡¯s Atlanta), filmmaker Hiro Murai ¡¯06 drew upon his own immigrant experience to direct Glover¡¯s provocative ¡°This is America¡± music video, which has amassed more than 100 million YouTube views.
