USC Marshall 경영대학의 Full-time MBA프로그램 입학담당자들이 이번 가을에  세계 각국의 MBA 박람회에 참가하여 학생들과 만날 예정이다. 이들은 14여개 국가를  방문할 계획으로, 한국에서는 9월 8일에 열리는 The MBA Tour와 10월 30일의 The QS World MBA Tour에 참석한다. 이 두 행사에 참석하고 싶은  학생들은 아래 정보를 참고하여 온라인으로 사전 등록을 하면 된다.

USC의  Max Nikias 총장이 퇴임한 후, Wanda M. Austin박사가 USC 재단이사회에 의해 임시 총장으로 임명됐다. 그녀는 1988년에 USC Viterbi 공과대학에서 Systems Engineering으로 박사학위를 취득했으며, 항공학 및 시스템 공학 분야에서 국제적으로 명망있는 엔지니어이자 기업가이다. MakingSpace Inc.의 공동창업자이며, The Aerospace Corp.의 첫 여성 회장을 역임하기도 했는데 첫번째 African-American 회장이기도 했다. The Aerospace Corp.는 미국의 항공 우주 프로그램과 관련된 여러 사안에 적용할 수 있는 과학기술을 중점적으로 연구하는 비영리 단체이다. Austin박사는 2010년부터 USC 재단이사를 역임했으며, 2018년 USC Presidential Medallion을 수상하기도 했다. 

The USC Board of Trustees on Tuesday appointed Dr. Wanda M. Austin as interim president of USC.

Austin is an American businesswoman who is internationally recognized for her work in aeronautics and systems engineering. She is co-founder of MakingSpace Inc, a systems engineering and leadership development consultant and motivational speaker.

She is the former president and CEO of The Aerospace Corp., an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to the application of science and technology toward critical issues affecting the nation’s space program. From January 2008 until October 2016, Austin led the organization’s 3,600 employees and managed annual revenues of $950 million at 17 offices nationwide. As the sixth president, she was the first female and the first African-American president in the 57-year history of the organization. Read more

Keck Medicine of USC가 US News & World Report가 뽑은 2018-19년 미국 최우수 병원 중의 하나로 선정되어, 10년 연속 이 잡지의 리스트에 들게 됐다. 이 순위는 미국 내의 4500 여개의 병원을 대상으로 환자 안전과 사망율, 의료의 질 등 여러 지표를 고려하여 매겨진 것이다. Keck Hospital of USC와 USC Norris Cancer Hospital이 속한 Keck Medicine of USC는 LA  메트로 지역에서 톱 3, 캘리포니아주에서는 톱 7에 올려졌다. 

Keck Medicine of USC는 비뇨기과(9위), 안과(12위) 등 8 개 전문 분야에서 미 전국 50위권 안에 들었으며, 특히 Norris Cancer Hospital은 미국내 최고의 암 전문 병원중의 하나로 인정받았다. Keck Medicine of USC의 CEO인 Tom Jackiewicz는 "Norris Cancer Hospital은 첨단 연구에 기반을 둔 정확한 환자 맞춤형 치료를 제공하고 있다. 환자들에게 매일 헌신적으로 제공하는 우리 병원의 혁신적인 치료와, 또한 최우수 병원에 선정된 것에 자부심을 느낀다" 라고 언급했다.  

Keck Medicine of USC has been named one of the country’s best cancer care providers and among the best in eight other specialties, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2018-19 Best Hospitals rankings. It’s the 10th consecutive year that Keck Medicine has made the magazine’s list.

This year, Keck Medical Center of USC, which includes Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital, was ranked among the top three in metropolitan Los Angeles and the top seven in California.

At No. 9, urology was the medical center’s highest-ranked specialty. Cancer was ranked No. 17, making it the highest-ranked cancer specialty in Southern California. Read more
