USC Keck 의과대학의 신임 학장으로, 방사선 전문의이며 핵의학자인 Carolyn C. Meltzer 박사가 부임할 예정이다. 현재 그녀는 아틀란타 Emori대학의 The William P. Timmie Professor and chair of the Department of Radiology and Imaging Science 로 재직중이며, 내년 3월부터 Keck의과대학에서 임기를 시작한다. Emori 대학 방사선학과 과장으로서 1200명 이상의 의료인을 비롯, 9개의 병원과 수많은 커뮤니티 클리닉을 감독해왔으며, 의과대학의 the executive associate dean of faculty academic advancement, leadership and inclusion and the chief diversity and inclusion officer를 맡기도 했다. Meltzer 박사는 노화나 알츠하이머, 정신질환과 관련된 뇌구조와 기능, 또한 Cancer Imaging에 관해 연구했고 또한 수많은 의학도를 양성한 열성적인 교육자이기도 하다. The American Medical Association에서 The Distinguished Service Award를 수상했으며, The American Society of Neuroradiology가 시상하는 The Outstanding Researcher Award / Gold Medal Award를 받기도 했다. Meltzer박사는 Cornell University에서 생물학과 신경생물학을 공부했으며 Johns Hopkins 대학과 병원에서 대학원 교육을 마쳤다. USC Provost, Charles Zukoski는 "Meltzer박사의 지도력아래, USC Keck의과대학은 연구와 교육, 의료와 지역참여 분야에 많은 발전을 이룩할 것이며, 미래에 필요한 보건활동을 하는 최고 의료기관으로서 자리매김할 것이다."라고 언급했다.
