Policy Manager/ External Affairs Manager
Primary Activities
• Meet with government agencies, visiting foreign government officials and non- governmental organizations to achieve these objectives and resolve issues using such strategies as trade policy or partnership development.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and influence KPMA activities in order to achieve improvements in the industry operating environment and reform in-line with Asia Pacific Human Health objectives.
• Lead Asia Pacific advocacy in Washington on policy objectives and provide focus support for KPMA and government on the Free Trade Agreements related countries in Asia Pacific
• Maintain a broad network of contacts in Washington dc with government agencies, foreign government, societies, think tanks, and academics.
• Negotiate both through KPMA and directly, as necessary to achieve objectives.
• Provide briefing to the Asia Pacific Policy Team, Divisional President and Vice Presidents and Marketing directors on a regular basis.
• Assimilate information and intelligence and recommends specific actions or strategic responses.
Skills
• Experience in policy and government agencies
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building
• Strong leadership , communication and influencing skills
• Ability to work cross-culturally
• Academic background or exposure to Asia culture, history, language, etc a plus
